One of the pleasures in the last four years of this mad world has been the emergence of genuinely intelligent, creative and scathingly sarcastic writers.

Thank you Mr. Kunstler.

Current polling shows a shocking lack of awareness in the American electorate - on one hand we have an inarticulate POTUS candidate with very modest intellect who has been complicit in the failures of the current administration (inflation, border, Afghanistan, foreign wars, etc) and has paired herself with a radical left winger who dodged his deployment to a war zone.

On the other hand we have a candidate for POTUS who demonstrated exceptional policy performance (low inflation, real wage growth, world peace) marred only by his mean tweets. He is paired with a man who escaped single parent poverty and proudly served in a combat zone in the Middle East. How can the electorate even consider voting for Kamalama Ding Dong and Tampon Timmy?? Mind boggling.

I knew nothing about Vance other than him being a Republican and under 40 years old. That was enough but I snagged a copy of "Hillbilly Elegy" anyway. Now I am a supporter of "Vance for President in 2028" even though I plan to vote for Trump in November.

Expand full comment

His official story is appealing but his ties to the global surveillance company Palenltir which is part of the lawfare against ordinary people blob are appalling.

Expand full comment

Yes indeed. His rapid rise to power and connection to a surveillance contractor for the DoD—not to mention his flip from being a never-Trumper—give me pause.

I don’t know, but I understand the early never Trump sentiment. I was part of it. I’m a political junkie and still fell for it.

I read and saw the news coverage when he announced his presidential run and was amazed by the stupid things that he supposedly said. Finally it got so bad that I did some research….. and found that almost everything was misquoted and slanted against him.

I was shocked at the lengths to which they went to make him look bad ,

sometimes even making up stories from whole cloth.

Been a supporter ever since.

LOL, I am not a never Trumper, just objective, and objectively Vance has unsavory Silicon Valley ties, should I pretend those aren't real, like the woketards pretend biological sex isn't real, because feels?

Because he would dismantle the security state?! lol

Mark, I’m continuing my tradition of not voting because my last residence in the USA was in California, and my vote would be recorded in Californian—a one-party state run by Comintern. It makes Mos Eisley seem like a place of safety and virtue!

I read Obama's memoir and could tell it was ghostwritten BS. If Hillbilly Elegy is ghostwritten, it was ghostwritten by a far better class of ghostwriter. If inferior, you mean that it doesn't pander to your white liberal sensibilities, why would that (or your trashing of it) mean JS to me?

Expand full comment

Sure, that’s exactly what we need as president…another memoirist with a bunch of different names! And Trump has the shallowest American roots of any president which paves the way for Kamala. Trump’s children aren’t even eligible to run for president because Ivana was in America illegally and spreading her legs at Studio 54 while whacked out on cocaine and qualuuds.

🤔🤔🤔🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I can only think of two things that explain it:

1) the majority of the “enthusiasm” is astroturfed, Kamala’s appearances are being coordinated with musical performances in order to make the audience look bigger, and I suspect that some of the polling organizations have put their collective thumbs on the scale to enhance her popularity.

Meanwhile, her handlers are doing everything possible to keep the public from learning more about her.

But there’s no doubt that she’s far more popular than she should be, based on her ability and record.

2) the mainstream, Democrat Party controlled media, have been warping their coverage of Donald Trump for so long that many people really do believe that he’s a threat to the country….. or at least their vision of what it should be.

Also, the Democratic Party is full of people who THINK that they’re intelligent and well informed but in reality they’re mid-wits(at best, just like Kamala) who just repeat what they’ve been told by CNN and MSNBC.

Cat Karens DO exist….

All of this can be overcome, but it’s going to take time and a lot of work by Trump’s campaign…… and there’s not that much time.

But there’s a proverb in politics that goes something like ‘a week is a lifetime in politics’….

Trump has 2 1/2 months. ANYTHING can happen.

Lies repeated often enough, loud enough and saturated enough will become truth.

Voter common sense and critical thinking left the building long ago.

Trump may not be perfect, but his policies worked despite the perpetual harassment he suffered in office. The dem machine is deep and twisted and infiltrated with nefarious actors that wish to tear the country down.

The GOP has never been smart enough to play dirty pool in Dem fashion (ballot harvesting, giveaways to the victim classes and identity grifters), so the "landslide" never happens, leaving the fixers to determine the outcome of every election.

Living in NJ watching the 2nd appointment rather than election of "the next clusterfuckery" starting to wonder if compromised incompetence is actually a strategy for dominance and avoiding any pretense of Democracy and all that voting theater which is tiresome and expensive

I refer to the selection/installation of Kory Booker to the Senate when the other guy died. Suspect the chances of Spartacus Booker making it to the Senate on his own were slim but once you're "the incumbent" even if it was an installation rather than an election you virtually never lose. Easy peasy that whole messy election thing avoided. Just make sure that an incumbent is ousted when your guys is in charge so that the next clown that would never be elected can be installed.

Now long suffering Jersey sheep are waiting to see who will be installed to replace the newly ousted Menendez. I'm guessing someone equally flawed will be installed, BY INTENT. You always want to have the power to oust the current guy and install then next one. Good for party discipline. Just like the Mafia. Rules based.

When you think about it, if "your guy" is in control at the top and all the made men foot soldiers below are compromised clowns you can whack them at any moment for any expedient reason and effectively avoid the whole voting thing completely. It is starting to look/feel like an actual strategy rather than mere clusterfuckey by accident. It is almost as if we evolved to the present state of affairs based on the the installment rules. Getting so we can't find candidates incompetent and distasteful enough to present a superior controllable option to whatever sock puppet currently occupies the slot.

So you find a way to somehow install a Biden for example, a multiply compromised man who can EASILY be whacked and what is in the wings? Ms Cackles, someone so incompetent so unpalatable so far to the left that Lenin himself would say "chill lady, you gotta be realistic"". Someone who NEVER would end up as POTUS by the election theater process. But one day you are sitting and observing from cluster fuck bleachers wondering "how the hell did THAT lunatic end up in the top seat?". But there you go, she's there in front of you. Cackling and presiding, or at least pretending to preside.

If by some means they manage to steal the next election (or completely avoid having an election) the guy in the VP bullpen is perhaps even more scary than Kamala (how is that even possible?). A guy who one hopes could never be "elected" even in the reduced sentience country we've become. And yet, we could find ourselves with Walz as POTUS and EVEN THE DEMOCRATS would scratch their bums and go "I don't ever remember voting for that guy"

I use organized crime terminology because that is what we've become in clusterfuck nation. We have the Capo at the top who is actually controlled by the boss of bosses in the shadows (so he does not get whacked) and a whole bunch of soldiers and made men below all of whom can be whacked almost at will because you have something damning on everyone of them. When it is time to go it's time to go and "your guy" or the council of bosses will select the next made man replacement.

Democracy Theater but no democracy. Only organized crime posing as democratic governance

"There must be a few unfettered souls among the Dem delegates who detect that, without the smoke and mirrors of the media matrix, Harris & Walz can’t possibly make the case for getting elected honestly" But to do that, to speak against them or just point out some obvious issues would be a CTE, or career terminating event. So that ain't ever going to happen. I "predict" that H&W will "win" regardless of the facts. Why would they change now? Why would we expect them to? So many states have outrageous voting rules now. Your neighboring state of Vermont is a ridiculous prime example. Good thing they don't matter in the big picture. But, anyone who thinks the machine is going to let DJT back in to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, is kind of pleasantly deluded. I just hope your book series doesn't come to pass. Although I wouldn't be surprised if we come out of this Fourth Turning far worse than anyone predicts.

It is a cluster fuck nation definitely. The democrats and the Republicans are on the take like prostitutes?,They do anything for moneys. Once the media was neutralized as the source of exposing corruptions, now there is nothing to stop these tyrants. Grassroots to demand reimposing the constitution, and introduction of ways to take money out of politics can be a start.

So much appreciation for your word smithing and common sense. The DNC side of politics seems a traveling carnival. I believe the DNC has no real hope to maintain the Presidency and simultaneously fear between their flock of blind Lemmings, illegal immigrant votes and voter fraud the worst could happen. Are there enough women and darker skinned USA voters without a brain to carry this uber liberal team to the finish line ? Harris's V.P. selection failed the Party DEI image in that there is no obesity or obvious sexual deviancy to garner those votes. Biden did buy her a block of votes with forgiving student loans and plundering the country's strategic oil reserves that Trump built up.

She’s the odds on favorite to win in the betting markets. SHE IS THE NEXT PRESIDENT. This has clearly already been decided.

Expand full comment

What betting markets? The very few I follow give Trump the edge. Gaslighted just a tiny bit perhaps?

Expand full comment

Betting markets are very close, like 52-48 close. But that doesn’t account for the momentum she has or for the fact that the entire US government will have its finger on the scales for her.

Expand full comment

That's more like what I am hearing although I don't believe Harris' boost is entirely organic. But that margin is well within the margin for cheating if the big blue cities in red states do not implement photo ID for voting. Which they would not do even if time permitted. I'm waiting to see what happens at the convention. Will everyone there come together in a kumbaya moment or will there be open warfare between rival groups of radicals?

Expand full comment

She did come out today with evidence she will continue the Biden Administration’s war in the Middle East going. She had to of course as it is technically the Biden Harris administration (although both of them have moved on…)

That’s the worst scenario for her. She didn’t respond well to the heckling at her coming out party. If there is real conflict inside the convention it plays to her weaknesses of being stupid venal arrogant and lazy.

Expand full comment

It appears that the new “enthusiasm” for her is wearing off. Her rally today was apparently a flop.

Polymarkets had Trump up for a long time, but it’s been closer and closer since Biden dropped out.

I saw that today’s Harris rally was sparsely attended….

Kamala is the next president. That has already been decided. She leads in every pill. She has the explicit endorsement of every member of government of the media of the popular culture. It’s all in and the fix is unstoppable.

Stop hoping for her to screw up. They will have her on a tight leash. And any screwup she does make will instantly vanish down the memory hole.
