They (radical environazis) in cooperation with the Klinton admin, killed the economies of Northern Kalifornia in ‘93, all in the name of saving a Spotted Owl that was not even present. The E-nazis put half of 3 counties’ residents on the welfare rolls. So stupid.
James, You are just getting technical comments today. Many of us are unable to listen to podcasts. Most sites autotranscribe the podcasts so that those of us who are visual can read the transcripts. Substack even has a facility that will do it for you.
Hate to miss anything you do. Hope you can start posting transcriptions quickly. Many thanks.
When I heard the first interview with Elizabeth Nickson I thought some of it was unbelievable, even a little cray cray. But as someone who lives a short ferry ride from her island and lived in Vancouver for decades I can attest she is spot on re the everything she said about the Islands Trust, Canadian politics, BC politics and non-profit do gooders of the Downtown Eastside. So she’s undoubtedly correct about the dark side of the entertainment industry as well.
Thank you for this, James. Hopefully Elizabeth will pop into the comments … I’d really like to get a copy of her Eco-Fascism book, but the only availability seems to be on Kindle, no paperback options available anywhere online.
Gentrification. Create an under-valued ghetto and buy at the bottom and then develop - same as it has been for going on 100 years in north America. Mob capitalism has been perfected and stand-ins for liberalism in political campaigns now. Never punch down.
If she wasn't from the industrial capitalist aristocracy I'd believe slightly more of this half-assed unreferenced information.
>Alive is the cheapest way to transport 'fresh' replacement body parts that go to fixing rich old people - not the food supply (also, 'fresh' bodies are likely for brain transplants ... Is that Richard Nixon in that body called April Haines?)
The character of the forest over it's life span (100-300 years depending on regional climate) is unique, and has to be understood - or you're just adding more confusion.
Fabulous, enlightening conversation. Clearly I need to find & llsten to part 1! & also, subscribe to Ms. Nickson's S-stack. My bad for taking so long to do so.
As you continue to improve the mechanics of your website, those of us who are hearing challenged (deaf as a post), would much appreciate your posting a transcription of any audio you're doing.
In appreciation, I might well send you a large bottle of some very fine Kentucky Bourbon.
Hi. I’m an unpaid subscriber, but quite interested in what you have to say. However, I don’t do podcasts or videos. Too much screen time.
Please publish this in a text format so I can read it. I’m sure I will eventually become a paid subscriber, I came here through Elizabeth Nickson (BTW she has also been hard to read).
Hi Jim. The private RSS feed that comes with my paid subscription to your Substack for your podcast has stopped updating with Episode 400. It’s discouraging. I paid so I could get the private feed. Your public feed still seems to be updating though. Anyway, maybe you can check it out. The Substack AI Help robot was not helpful.

This was even better than the first one. Elizabeth Nickson is a new hero for me. What a cool woman.

Semper Fidelis.
No complaints here. I thought it was a fantastic interview - I thoroughly enjoyed both interviews with Elizabeth and am following her now.
